Russian Rosemale Folk Country Pine 1880's Cupboard

Hand made in Russia about 1880, this wonderful country cupboard has hand painted rosemaling with folk themes. It is incredibly well constructed of thick pine planks with visible hand dovetails and mortise and tenon joints. The doors have raised panels. Cut square wooden pegs and hand wrought iron spikes secure the hand planed boards together.

The painted finish appears original with some very attractive wear, and some hardware appears replaced. An authentic folk antique, this picturesque furniture has some Russian newspaper lining from the 1960's. Size is 44" wide, 23" deep and 6'10" tall.
