An elegant Sheraton style dining set from the 1930's includes a table with four leaves and eight chairs. Mahogany wood has delicate inlaid marquetry and a superb gleaming finish on this unsigned American made vintage furniture. A matched flame grain skirt or apron has delicate ebony and satinwood banding.
The table has shrinkage separations on the skirt at one end, see photos. There are four 8 1/4" wide leaves, two of which have skirts or aprons, plus a wooden case. Six graceful reeded legs include a center pair for extra support when opened.
Table size is 42" wide, 30" tall, legroom is 25 1/2" and length when closed is 62," with all four leaves in place, length is almost 8' overall. Chairs have recent upholstery and inlaid medallions with banding of ebony and satinwood. Frames are strong and tight, reglued to serve another generation.
Two armchairs measure 23" wide, 25" deep, 36" tall and seats are 19" high, six side chairs are 20" wide, 20" deep and 34" tall.
The matching sideboard in photos is priced and sold separately, call or email for availability.
