Expertly crafted in the elegant Sheraton manner about 1940, this dining set includes a table with two leaves and eight newly upholstered chairs.
Made by "Northern Furniture of Sheboygan, Wis.," the signature is lost. The satiny finish is in excellent condition on this vintage furniture.
The table is walnut hardwood, accented with burl and banding plus inlaid traditional marquetry medallions. Two 18" wide leaves have matching skirts or aprons, there are center legs for extra support. Size is 42" wide, 31" tall, legroom is 27" and length when closed is 66," with both leaves in place, length is 8' 6" overall.
Chairs are solid maple hardwood, reglued to serve another generation and are newly upholstered. Size of six side chairs is 21" wide, 21" deep, 36" tall and seats are 19" high, two armchairs are 24 1/2" wide, 22" deep and 37 1/2" tall.
