Singing Birds Automaton in Vintage German Jeweled Gold Birdcage #31620

A pair of feathered song birds sing and move their tails and beaks inside a gold plated and bejeweled cage. Dating from about 70 years ago, the base of this "automaton" is signed, "Elpa, Made in West Germany." A lever controls play "continuous, intermission or stop."

This precious vintage cage is heavy cast and embossed metal with "rubies" and an excellent warm rich gold finish. There is hanging ring as well.

Size is 6 1/2" across and 11" tall.
