Hand carved of solid mahogany about 75 years ago, this Spanish Colonial chair has a panel with a mysterious draped, almost hidden figure plus lion heads and paws.
The embossed heavy saddle leather seat is comfortable, the frame is strong and sturdy on this furniture from Latin America. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina.
This dramatic chair, sometimes called a "Savonarola" chair after the fiery monk, measures 27" wide, 34" deep, 35" tall and the seat is 17" high.
