Stream with Birds, Signed Nik Lenz Original Oil Painting

A painting of a woodland stream with birds is signed, "Nik Lenz," a prominent Milwaukee artist. This original oil on canvas is undamaged, and dates from the 1930's.

Soft colors and subtle sky and reflection in the water are beautiful on this work of art. The original carved frame has a dark gold leaf finish.

Nicholas Lenz (1890-1974) lived and worked in Wisconsin, primarily in Milwaukee, where he had a gallery and taught painting. After serving in World War I in France, he studied in Le Mans. His works are in numerous Wisconsin museums.

Overall size is 34" wide, 29" tall and 2" deep.
