A "Tansu" or Japanese two piece chest from around 1900 makes a fascinating dresser. Hand crafted of pine and ash, two separate sections stack together.
The old finish has been preserved with a fresh coat of satiny varnish. There are mars, dings and wear for antique character. Wrought iron hardware and handles are original, locks have no keys and one end handle is missing.
Dovetailed corners have mounts for protection, joints are secured with round wooden pegs on this Asian made furniture.
