A "Tete-a-Tete," French for "head to head," is an "S" shaped sofa for two people to talk privately while observing the action in all directions, and were often seen in ballrooms. This example was hand carved of solid quarter sawn oak in the 1890's.
The finish was restored and new upholstery date from about 20 years ago, both are in excellent condition. The curved frame is tight and strong. Springs are soft and comfortable on this antique American made furniture.
Measurements are 50" long, 36" deep, 29" tall and the seats are 16" high.
