Tete a Tete or Head to Head Italian Double Chair, 1880 Antique

Called a Tete a tete or "head to head" double chair, this picturesque antique allowed two ladies at a party to gossip quietly and see all the action in every direction.

The sturdy and strong frame was hand carved of solid walnut with lavish detail, double bird and female heads.

The old finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Seats have been newly upholstered on this furniture from Italy.

Size is 53" long, 28" deep and 32" tall. The seat height is 15".
