A brass surveyor's transit or theodolite is signed, "Stanley, London." There are glass liquid filled levels for both directions plus a lens cover on the scope. There are numerous adjustments and a compass.

There is some wear to the wooden case, which has dovetail joints.

Case size is 12" x 6" and 5" tall.
