Said to be from a Green Bay, Wisconsin firehouse, this Victorian style of chair was also called a "captain's" chair and were widely used in the 1890's.
Rugged, strong and very usable, this comfortable country chair has lots of character and patina - stains, mars, shrinkage separations and wear. The iron reinforcement rods under the arms are original, the finish is very good on elm, ash and oak hardwoods.
Measurements of this nostalgic antique furniture are 21" wide, 23" wide, 30" tall and the seat is 18" high.
