Victorian Faux Bamboo Twin Bed, Cherry & Pine

In the 1880's, there was a Victorian craze for faux bamboo furniture like this single size bed. President Garfield had a similar set in the White House.

This antique bed is in excellent condition. The panels are pine and the turned "bamboo" is actually solid American cherry. The original rails have been extended to accommodate standard modern twin or single size bedding, as shown in photos.

The finish is excellent on this striking 1880's furniture, nice also as a day bed.

Size is 45" wide and 82" long, the headboard is 47" tall and the footboard is 41" tall.

The standard twin mattress and box spring used for the photos is 14" thick.
