Carved Antique Bookcase, Iron Grills, Glass Doors

Classic Renaissance motifs are expertly hand carved on this large bookcase with four doors, each with glass and wrought iron grillwork. The exceptional hand carving is bold and artistic.

An original warm finish is very fine with some retouching, beautiful warm patina plus some antique character and minor mars at the edges.

When the vertical dividers are slid out, two banks of interior shelves are then adjustable on pegs resting in brass sockets. Wrought iron hardware plus working locks and keys are all original from about 1900.

Beautifully proportioned with deeply carved moldings, this historic piece can be disassembled for delivery.

Measurements of this imposing and sophisticated furniture from northern Italy are 8' 10" wide, 21" deep and 6' 8" tall.
