This small Victorian "sadiron" was used for delicate ruffles and lace and was finely made in England about 1870. Solid brass, the curved handle plus the tiny lever to lock the lid down are mahogany.
The interior is vented, it would have been filled with hot coals when used. Measurements of this charming antique iron are 4 1/2" long, 2 1/2" wide and just over 5" tall.
