A lovely early 1900's Art Nouveau solid oak marble top chest with beveled mirror would make a wonderful server or vessel sink vanity.
Cherries are carved by a master craftsman in relief, the way marble is carved. Delicate fluted moldings roll into the vine motif. There is understated inlaid marquetry of pewter, brass, pearl and ebony.
This historic design is called "Jugenstil" in Austria, where this antique furniture was expertly crafted. Engraved brasses are original on the hand dovetailed drawers.
The finish is excellent on fine grained oak, with a graceful curved crown. Newly polished, the beautifully grained marble is also in very fine condition.
Measurements are 50" wide, 22" deep, 78" tall and the top is 34" high.
