A highboy or tall chest of drawers was extremely well crafted in Germany about 1890.
The original finish on figured walnut is very well preserved with warm antique patina. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster.
The marble top has a professional repair and has been polished and sealed to resist stains. Deep moldings, bun feet and heavy weight show quality construction. Large drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and original nickel hardware and embossed escutcheons on this European furniture.
Measurements are 34" wide, 21" deep and 50 1/2" tall.
