Swiss 1870 Antique Sleigh Rocker, Carved Lions and Figures

A magnificent sleigh design rocking chair was hand carved in Switzerland around 1870. Standing lions, female figures and flowers show three dimensional artistry on this European antique furniture.

Solid walnut, the original finish has been preserved with later varnish. The frame including a foot rest is tight and strong, there is a later reinforcing panel behind the headrest with new upholstery.

Dimensions are 30" wide, 41" tall, 55" long and the seat is 16" high.
