New England Cherry 1830's Antique Poster Rope Bed, Adapted to Full Size

Hand crafted of solid cherry, pine and maple in New England in the 1830's, this poster bed fits a standard full size mattress. The finish is in excellent condition on this well proportioned antique furniture.

Originally a "rope" bed, cut-off pegs to tighten the ropes are visible on the end pieces. Modern steel side rails and an upholstered platform or "bunky board" are included to use instead of a spring unit. A standard modern full or double size mattress, not included, fits this bed. This arrangement keeps the bedding from being too high, covering too much of the headboard. Posts have brass bolt covers on this lovely antique furniture.

The bed measures 56" wide, 67" tall and 6' 9" long.
