Carved of solid quarter sawn oak about 1890, this lavish secretary desk has an excellent deep finish. Rosy brass pulls, gallery and mounts on the spiral columns are original to the period.
The deeply carved drop front rests on pull out supports. Inside are secret compartments plus a well for pens. There are also compartments with doors on both sides. Only these two side doors have working keys, the other keys are handles only, those locks do not work.
Three large lower drawers have hand cut dovetail joints. Feet are traditional ball and claw design on this American made antique furniture.
Measurements are 34" wide, 19" deep, 40" tall and the desk surface is 29" high.
