Hand crafted of solid oak in Germany about 1910, this "Arts and Crafts" period desk has a locking roll top which glides up and down smoothly.
The restored deep finish is in extremely fine condition preserving a few mars for a little antique character. There are several shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Lower doors open to a pull out shelf and a bank of drawers. The pull out writing surface is inlaid with new saddle leather. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints. Heavy brass hardware is original on this antique library or office furniture.
The upper section is removable for easier transport. Roll top and small upper door have working locks and keys, the bottom keys are handles only to open the doors.
Size is 59" wide, 34 1/2" deep and 47" tall. The pull out writing surface is 30 1/2" tall and the kneehole is 23" wide and 25" tall.
