A signed "Sonora Minuet" model wind up phonograph or record player works beautifully. The original signature label inside includes "Highest Score for Tone - Gold Medal Winner at the Panama Pacific Exhibition in 1915," the San Diego World's Fair, so this player is from sometime after that date.
The quarter sawn oak case has dramatic Art Nouveau "bombe" curves and an excellent restored finish. Nickel plated hardware is all original, the tone is warm and full. A wide assortment of standard 78 rpm records are included in the file system below.
There is a volume knob on the left side plus a speed control and shut off. A record catalog plus original owner's manual are included with this boldly designed American antique furniture.
Measurements are 21" wide excluding the removable crank, 21" deep and 46" tall.
