A country pine and maple bench from an 1870's railroad station had a flip back, so sitters could face a track in front or in back when waiting. The signature reads "A. G. Whitcomb, Boston, Mass."
The ingenious cast iron mechanism easily flips on this American made antique furniture from a train depot. When flipped, a little of the black paint is rubbed and scratched as shown. The old finish is in very good condition with some charming color variation, see photos. The frame is strong and tight.
Dimensions are 8' long, 20" deep, 33" tall and the seat is 17" high.
