Victorian Antique Queen Size Walnut Bedroom Set, 2 Marble Top Chests #29948

Hand carved of solid walnut about 1865, this Victorian period bedroom set includes a queen size bed and two marble top chests or dressers, one with a secret drawer.

The restored finish is in excellent condition with warm patina on this American made antique furniture. Deeply sculpted with dramatic crests, raised panels are beautiful.

The bed has been expertly adapted to fit a standard modern queen size mattress as shown. Original side rails have been extended and wood cross supports are included. The demonstrator mattress and spring unit in photos are 18" thick together. Dimensions are 65" wide, 90" long, the headboard is 87" tall and the footboard is 37" high.

Marble tops on the dresser and commode have been polished and given a protective low luster finish, preserving a few stains and hairline cracks for a little character. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints, "racetrack" moldings and original carved grape pulls.

There is a working lock on the doors of the small chest or commode. Size is 32" wide, 18" deep, 40 1/2" tall and the top is 29" high.

The dresser has jewel or handkerchief boxes and a swivel mirror, flanked by candle stands plus a secret drawer in the base. Size is 42" wide, 19" deep, 7' tall and the top is 34" high.
