A small lock box or document chest was hand made of solid pine in Ohio about 1830. Corners joints have hand cut dovetail joints. The wrought iron mounts are original and the lock and key work.
The original grain painted finish and banding are remarkably well preserved, waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Size is 18 1/2" wide, 12" deep and 10 1/2" tall.
