A top of the line traditional tall case or grandfather clock from about 20 years ago has every imaginable feature, and is signed "Ridgeway Made in USA." The case is solid cherry with matched flame grain mahogany panels and curved or beveled glass panes, all original and in superb condition.
The solid brass movement keeps accurate time for a week on a winding. Resonant chimes count the quarter hour and count the hour, and play a choice of "Westminster, St. Michael's or Whittington" chime tunes, or can be set to silent. A gold plated filigree dial is lavish. There is subtle lighting in the dial and pendulum as well.
Measurements are 28" wide, 16" deep and 91" tall.
This clock needs to be "set up" when delivered - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
