This wonderful Georgian or Federal period secretary desk is solid matched curly or "tiger" grain maple with shimmering grain. Hand crafted about 1780 in Ohio, there are square cut nails and exposed hand cut dovetail joints on the upper corners.
The old gleaming finish is in very fine condition with glowing antique patina, preserving a few burns, mars and stains for antique character. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms, brass hardware appears original.
Dimensions are 44" wide, 20" deep, 42 1/2" tall and the desktop is 31" high.
