Japanese Antique Hand Painted Lacquer Jewelry Chest or Box #35948

This elegant jewelry chest from Japan has its original hand painted lacquer finish from about 1900 in very fine condition with a little crackling from age, see photos.

The interior was expertly custom fitted with a removable tray and has been recently upholstered. An engraved patinated brass latch is original.

Size is 14" x 9" and 5" tall.
