Signed by famous maker, "Howard Miller of Zeeland, MI," about 25 years ago, a luxury model long case or grandfather clock is all original and in beautiful condition.
About 25 years old, the solid mahogany case is accented with panels of flame burl. The original finish is in extremely fine condition. Beveled glass pane and polished and lacquered brass mounts are authentic. The filigree dial is exquisite on this American made vintage furniture.
The brass movement runs a week on a winding, and plays the familiar Westminster melody on sonorous chimes each quarter hour, and counts the hour as well. A lever chooses three other tunes or silent. The original winding clock and owner's manual are included.
Size is 24 1/2" wide, 18" deep and 85" tall.
This clock needs to be "set up" when delivered - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
