This stately tall case clock has the deep resonance of a 5 note tubular chime with an original electric movement from about 1920. The chime plays Westminster on the quarter hour and strikes the hour. The mahogany case has an arched top and the original finish is excellent, with minor mars and shrinkage cracks. The gold plated filigree mounts on the brass dial plate are especially beautiful, despite a few losses, see photos.
The brass movement has been professionally cleaned and oiled, and it has a new electric motor. The case is signed "Revere Hall Clock, Cincinnati, Ohio, Wellington Model." Our very experienced clockmaker recognizes the movement and chime as being made for Revere by Herschede, an outstanding clockmaker. Measurements are 22" wide, 14" deep and 6'8" tall.
