Victorian Shadow Box, Hair Wreath

This Victorian 1860's era shadowbox houses a traditional hair wreath, hand made of momentos of locks of hair delicately worked into an arrangement.

The hand-carved walnut frame has old crackled varnish, and the paper-lined interior has stains and spots. A charming example of handicraft work from the Civil War era, this antique measures 20" tall, 18" and 5" deep.
