Signed by famous maker, "Globe Wernicke," a four stack "Lawyer's or Barrister's" bookcase is shimmering quarter-sawn oak. The gleaming finish is excellent, knobs and labels are original. Sections have separate base and top sections.
This antique furniture from about 1900 is Mission Oak or Arts and Crafts design. Interiors are golden maple with some wear on the bottoms from sliding books in and out.
Two upper sections accommodate books up to 8 1/2" tall and 9 1/2" wide, the next section up to 10 1/2" tall and 9 1/2" wide, and the bottom section up to 12" tall and 9 1/2" wide. Overall dimensions are 35" wide, 12" deep and 61" tall.
