Signed by famous maker, "Weis of Monroe, Mich.," a three stack "Lawyer's or Barrister's" bookcase is shimmering quarter-sawn oak with a drawer in the base section. The gleaming finish is excellent, knobs and labels are original. Base and top are separate stacking sections.
This genuine antique American furniture dates from about 1900, the Mission Oak or Arts and Crafts period. Interiors are golden maple with some wear on the bottoms from sliding books in and out.
The upper section accommodates books up to 9 1/2" tall and over 10" wide, the two lower sections up to 11 1/2" tall and 10" wide. Overall dimensions are 34" wide, 12" deep and 51" tall.
