Mahogany Antique Dome Top Trunk or Treasure Chest with Lock #36252

A giant trunk looks like a pirate's treasure chest. Hand crafted of solid mahogany about 1840 in England, there are square cut nails. The large lock still works on this dome top trunk, which was probably a dowry chest for a bride.

The old satiny finish is very well preserved, waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Interior floor is oak.

Size is 52" long, 26" deep and 31 1/2" tall.
